Winners (Not Seconds)

I have not been the best at blogging over the past few months but a couple of winners over the past week has given everyone in the yard a massive boost. Many people have asked me exactly how many seconds we have posted recently and on a quick count up at the start of this week the previous 6 months had yielded 2 winners and 22 seconds. Very skewed results! Nothing particularly to blame, we just seemed to be bumping in to a well handicapped horse or not getting the rub of the green here and there. Hopefully that is behind us now as we head in to the thick of the turf season.

Sacred Falls and William Pyle winning at Carlisle

Sacred Falls has been a model of consistency since she joined the yard last spring and she well and truly deserved to get her head back in front at Carlisle on Monday. She has been a superstar since Scott and Alison picked her out of the Godolphin draft at last years Feb Sales. After a painfully close second at Hamilton last Friday it was great for William to get a win on her to as he put her through the stalls for us as an unraced youngster and also took the reins on her racecourse debut at Doncaster. Scott and Alison have endured many seconds over the past year (almost as many as me) so I know they fully appreciated the win and will hopefully manage to celebrate it with a glass or two.

Warminster with Abby after his Ayr win

Our second winner of the week was Warminster at Ayr with Phil Dennis doing the steering. Phil has rode for us from day dot and it is always great when he has a winner for us. Carlos (Sainz) as he is affectionately known at home was a cheapie from the October sales and he has gave his enthusiastic owners some great days out over the winter with plenty placings and it was fantastic to see him put a much deserved win on the board. Well done everyone!

Also at Ayr we had Noble Captain who ran a super 4th and Concert Boy who made his debut for the yard. Niamh who has been with us on two weeks work experience made the trip to Ayr and led up the pair for Making Headway Racing, gaining plenty of experience in the racing game.

We have been flat out at the yard over the past few weeks getting horses fit and getting plenty work in to the youngsters. We have some exciting entries coming up and looking forwards to plenty of runners over the next few months.
