Our Team
Abby Robertson
Abby is in her fourth full season at the yard and recently completed her NVQ 2 in Racehorse Care at The Scottish Racing Academy. Abby now has three seasons point to pointing under her belt and has turned into a super schooling jockey and work rider. Her favourite horse in the yard is Gweedore and she has built up a great relationship with him over the past few seasons. We are lucky to have such a knowledgeable and confident rider on the yard.
Casey Finlay
Casey joined us on work experience from The Scottish Racing Academy and when she graduated from her course we quickly snapped her up to stay in the yard. Casey has been with us for several years now and runs the yard side of the training, making sure the horses are happy and healthy. It is invaluable to have someone so conscientious on the yard when we are on exercise and away racing.
Jake Dickson
Having spent time in the pony club and learning his trade on the pony racing circuit and under the tuition of Jenny Wilson Jake joined us on leaving school and is now our yard Amateur. He is looking to turn professional soon and can’t wait to get cracking as our yard jockey.
Chloe Blaikie
Chloe spent her work experience with us while she was studying at The Scottish Racing Academy. We are very lucky that she has decided to stay at the yard as part of our yard based team. Chloe is a very sociable person and is a pleasure to work with and it has been amazing to see her grow both in confidence and knowledge in her time with us.
Charlie Bell
Charlie joined our little team at the end of the summer 2024 having previously worked with horses locally under the tutelage of Katie Jo Nixon. Charlie is furthering her education through the Scottish Racing Academy and has quickly became an integral part of the team.
Steph Thewlis
Having previously worked full time in racing Steph now works out of the sport but we are lucky she joins us to ride out when her shifts allow. She is a very experienced work rider and it is great to have her expertise when she is in.
Niamh McLeoud
Niamh is our fabulous Sunday girl. She has made herself a huge asset to the yard in a short space of time. Her favourite horse is Jumeira Vision who she was very proud to lead up on two of his wins. She is still in education at Galashiels Academy and is also studying at The Scottish Racing Academy.
