Autumn Already

The summer has flown in and the turf season is nearing the end, the weather has turned and the dreaded clipping has started.

It has been a good few weeks with a couple of winners and plenty of placed horses to. It was fantastic to see Curious Rover get his head in front at Redcar on Saturday under a positive ride from Oisin Orr. He has had mixed luck over the summer with plenty of places in big races and a few frustrating days to. Plenty of his fantastic owners from URSA Major Racing were there to celebrate the win.

Another flag bearer over the past couple of months has been the gorgeous Epidavros who joined us after her owners Scott and Alison (Star Racing) picked her out in the Tattersalls July HIT catalogue. Since joining us she has posted 2 wins and 3 thirds from 6 runs, she looks a classy filly and is going to enjoy a well deserved holiday now and is one to very much look forwards to next summer. Star Racing also brought Clasina home from the July sales and she also looks a shrewd buy having shown some nice placed form since arriving.

Also in the past week we had the consistent Concert Boy finish a painfully close second at Newcastle for Making Headway Racing. A very sound horse who loves his racing and will now be aimed at the all weather over the winter with plenty of days out planned for his owners.

Rockley Point has had a couple of runs in the last fortnight at the ripe age of 11. We brought him back in to work with a view to letting him decide if he wanted to stay in training. He has been showing all the zest and enthusiasm of a youngster and I was thrilled to see him put up to brilliant effort to finish third on both of his runs. He is our superstar.

We have entries in at Ayr, Musselburgh and Newcastle over the next week.
