Seconds…

I always feel bad for complaining when the horses are running well and are fit and healthy but second is sometimes the most frustrating place to finish in a race and we are still getting plenty of them. So far this year our 20 runners have yielded 1 winner, 6 seconds, 2 thirds and 2 fourths. So although we are not quite getting them over the line in front we should definitely be proud of how our string are performing. Bowood, Warminster and Rockley Point have all been banging on the door and very much deserve a 1 next to their names in the near future.

Rockley Point with Casey after finishing 2nd at Newcastle last Friday

We roll the dice with two tonight at Wolverhampton with Rockley Point looking to have a good EW chance once again under his regular partner Phil Dennis. Jackmeister Rudi lines up earlier in the day, he is well handicapped on old form but will need to show more than his previous few runs. He should have come on a lot for his last trip here.

I had my first visit to The Dublin Racing Festival last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed a rare taste of high class jumps racing along with plenty of gin and laughs with friends. Leopardstown produced a fantastic, relaxed atmosphere and mixed with the Dublin night life and plenty of live music it made for a fantastic weekend that I would highly reccomend.

A Great Weekend in Dublin

We are absolutely flat out at home getting the turf horses fit and the 2yo’s are keeping us busy with their education to. Roll on the turf!
