A Year Ago Today....

A year ago today we notched up our first flat success when Rockley Point scored under Phil Dennis at Hamilton Park.  He had been running into a lot of placings previous and it was almost a relief when he did finally put his nose in front. He has since gone on and scored another twice for us and owes me nothing. His form this year hasn’t been as consistent but a nice run at Newcastle last week suggested a revival in the near future could be possible. We have three other flat horses on the yard and they have all won this season, something I am very proud of, it is a huge testament to the hard work the girls put in at home.We are now looking forward to progress our flat string ahead of next season. We have recently added an unraced 2yo filly by Dragon Pulse (pictured) to our team, she will hopefully he campaigned at novices on the AW and then be ready to go handicapping next summer.  My next project is the purchase of a yearling to bring through to race next summer. I am looking to put together a small syndicate (around 5 owners) to go together and buy a nice type that will give us plenty of excitement. I have a few firmly interested but looking for a couple more if anyone interested just drop a message for more information. Also looking to buy a nice 3yo handicapper so it’s a busy and exciting time ahead!  Literally busy building stables as I type........Our National Hunt horses are in good heart at home and this rain is just fantastic as we have some of them ready to hit the track very soon.  Now the ground is a bit softer we can get some more schooling done on grass and look at getting them entered up. We should have a few at Kelso on the 6th, that always feels like the proper start of the National Hunt season to me.
