An Exciting Fortnight

It has been an exciting fortnight for the yard under both codes.Really thrilled with how our National Hunt team have started off the season.  A staying on second place at Kelso for Getaway Gerry (pictured) made him look like an exciting prospect for the future and we can’t wait to get him back out.  Stoney Rover looked every inch the chaser at Hexham where he finished fourth and he will definitely come on from both the run and the experience. The other runners we had have pleased us without bothering the judge and will be back out on the track in the next few weeks. Our flat team picked up a couple of fourths- they are all fresh, well and are set for another run out before we start holiday discussions. We are always looking to be upwardly mobile so it is important to be bringing in young horses to the yard for the future. 4yo That’s Your Lottie is currently in preparations for a bumper run, a big imposing mare that will carry weight and jump a chase fence in time. Our recent addition 4yo Esmé is doing everything nicely at home and has now started cantering on turf. She seems a tough type and will be aimed for bumpers early 2020.Yesterday we made our first yearling purchase so that’s the first step to building up our flat team for next season. Absolutely thrilled with our  Equiano filly who has a good pedigree and a lovely way of moving. Hopefully she will be lucky!
