Nellie French Wins Again!
It was just fantastic to see Nellie French win again at Newcastle last night under a patient ride from Phil. The partnership has now struck up three wins and will hopefully add to that total in the near future. Mary as she is known on the yard picked up two wins last winter at Wolverhampton, she then had an injury enforced break after suffering a hairline fracture to her pelvis. It was a tricky rehabilitation for Mary who suffered from Colic twice while she was on rest. She was looked after by the amazing team at Hawick Vets and also spent a few days up at the Dick Vet Equine Hospital at Edinburgh University during her recovery. It is a credit to everyone at the vets and the team at home that she has made a full recovery and back in to the winners enclosure.
It has been a good week with our other runner Celtic Dancer finishing second on his yard debut to the well handicapped Magna Sam. I was delighted that Celtic Dancer has been sold to stay in the yard with Making Headway Racing and there are some shares available in him for anyone that wishes to be involved. He will run around the north through the summer over fences and hurdles. The plan is for him to return to Musselburgh next Sunday where there are two options over fences for him.
Another exciting addition to the yard has been the addition of Far From A Ruby for URSA Major Racing who we purchased at the Tattersalls February sales. I really like this filly and she has settled in to the routine at the yard well. Her planned yard debut is on the 21st at Newcastle and there are shares available in this consistent flat performer.
Our next planned runners are at Ayr on Tuesday.
