A Tricky Couple of Weeks
Its been a frustrating couple of weeks. We had That's Your Lottie in at Kelso last Sunday in what looked a great opportunity for her to get off the mark. However Lottie was not her usual self on the Friday night and when we looked in to it we discovered she had a temperature. She had a visit from the vets and they gave her some medication to bring down her temperature and she is on the easy list for a week or two. We also had Nellie French balloted out of a a race that looked a good chance for her to get off the mark for the year at Wolverhampton. However when we did get her in at Southwell this week she ran poorly with no apparent reason. When you have a horse or two off colour it always makes you a bit worried!
We head down to Wolverhampton tomorrow with Samurai Sneddz who takes a step up to 1mile 4f which will hopefully be a fruitful move for him as he has finished strongly in his last two starts. He had a visit from the vet yesterday who ran bloods and took a tracheal wash so we can be sure of his health before heading down the road. Hopefully it will be a better day.
We have been very busy on the yard this week with Gweedore, Elladora and Spartakos all shod and back in to work ahead of the 2022 turf season, very exciting. They have been reasonably well behaved but definitely a few fresh moments.
