Braw Lads Sports and Gymkhana

Delighted to have continued our sponsorship of The Braw Lads Sports and Gymkhana this year.  It was a great success with the glorious weather making it even better.The sports day is an integral part of the celebrations over The Braw Lads Gathering and is a great opportunity for the youngsters to be involved. Established in 1930 to celebrate the towns history, there are a busy few weeks ahead of the main day which this year falls on Saturday the 30th June.  Every year a Braw Lad and Lass are elected to represent the town and this year we see Greg Kelly and Kimberley O’May taking the reins and leading the festivities.  I was lucky enough to be elected as Braw Lass in 2010and had the most amazing time and made many friends and happy memories.Each Border town has their own special celebrations and customs including rideouts, dinners, sports days, balls and lots of parties!Good luck for the week ahead Greg and Kim.photo is Freya and Lois Ainslie proudly showing their haul of prizes from the gymkhana.
