A Busy Week

Although we have not been busy on the racetrack this past fortnight things at home have been all go.Rockley Point found the surface a little quick at Musselburgh last week and never let himself down so turned out at Newcastle the following day where he picked up a third, the handicapper still has a bit of a hold of him but he has been a credit to the yard this past year.  He holds an entry at Hamilton on Friday night which he will take up if the ground is on the easy side then he will have a well earned rest for 6 weeks. It was great to see That's Your Lottie show a big improvement at Ayr on Tuesday.  She has always shown us ability at home but her buzzy attitude has stood in her way.  Over the past year she has grown up, relaxed and learned to enjoy her work and her racing, she also had a wind op as her breathing was hindering her.  Hopefully she will repay her owners patience soon.Grey Tikkana headed away for a holiday at the start of the week in the hope that she strengthens up and improves.  She works and schools well at home but is not doing the job on the track so I am hoping a break will help bring her forwards.  Her owner Robert sent back an unraced 5yo in her place so we have him to work on in the meantime.  Robert uses a super event rider to break his horses in and get them going so they are always nice to handle and ride when they arrive on the yard. We also received another unraced 5yo in to the yard today, so we have two fresh faces to get to know.We are often busy with horses on the yard that our followers will not have yet seen out on the racecourse.  The lovely Mary's Glance has been in the yard over the past few months and has learned loads, she has been for a racecourse gallop and has shown she is a natural over jumps (pictured).  She is going to head on a break now to strengthen and grow.We also had a bit of excitement on the yard this week as we have backed our homebred 2yo Sam. He has taken everything in his stride so far and is a bit of a busy body like his mother.  He will do a few weeks work before heading on his holidays and then he will likely come back to work in the backend and be brought on again for a few months. This week we have entries at Ayr, Perth and Hamilton!
