A New Face!

Its been a busy start to the festive month here at Lindean.

We have welcomed a new face on the the yard in the shape of GOFFS December sale purchase 'Bold Light' (pictured). He was picked out of the catalogue by his new owners James and Tasmin Scott and so far looks a shrewd buy following finishing second in a 4yo Irish point to point. He will get settled in and them be aimed for a spring campaign.

On Wednesday Flaming Glory picked up a fourth in a real slog in desperate conditions over 3 miles at Hexham. Thursday seen me back down the A68 to Newcastle where Mary's Glance ran a bit better but still has some way to go and Grey Tikkana was never competitive in 16 runner conditional jockeys race.

Back to Newcastle tomorrow where I run Rockley Point. His last few runs have been a little lacklustre but he is showing plenty of zest for the job at home so I am hoping he puts his best foot forwards. Andrew Breslin takes of a handy 5 lb. On Sunday That's Your Lottie makes her chasing debut at Carlisle. She has schooled well and we think the tempo of a chase may suit her, we have also been looking forwards to getting her out right handed.

Next week we have entries at Newcastle on Tuesday for The Mackem Torpedo, Rockley Point and Slainte Mhath.

Today we were lucky enough to have Claire in taking some pictures of the horses so look out for them on social media over the next few days. Claire is a regular at Musselburgh and has caught some great pictures of our runners there so it was great to meet her properly.

We have also been busy with our two lovely yearlings who are now trotting away and getting used to being ridden. Abby has done a super job of getting them started under saddle. It is so important that they are taught good manners at this young age, then they will find it easier to move through life both in racing and in a second career after racing. One of my pet hates is horses not standing still to be mounted so we always spent a bit of extra time working on that!
