Sponsored By Overlander

It has been a great two years with A1 Framing as our yard sponsor and I have been lucky to gain good friends in business co owner James, his wife Tasmin and their family. They are also owners in the yard and we definitely have the best framed pictures in the country!

However, we have had the amazing opportunity of welcoming Overlander Vehicles in to the yard on a three year yard sponsorship deal. This is a relationship that began when we contacted them to buy a new 3.5 tonne lorry off them this spring. The sponsorship deal begins tomorrow, June 1st and it’s great to have an international company on board with the yard.

Last Thursday was a great day at Carlisle for The Paddock Panners who proudly shouted home Samurai Sneddz on only his 7th start to win impressively at Carlisle. We were not sure if the 9 furlongs on quick ground would be enough of a stamina test for him but jockey Phillip Dennis rode positively and made sure that stamina was to the fore up the stiff finish at Carlisle.

We were through at Ayr yesterday where is was fabulous to see far From A Ruby put her best foot forwards and finish a close third for her owners URSA Major Racing. She has taken a few runs to settle in to life north of the Border and to come down to a competitive mark on the turf. But I feel we have turned a corner and hopefully a win is not too far away for her. Gweedore also lined up at Ayr but just did not have the finishing kick on ground the fast side of good and was denied by a couple of lengths.

We were at Kelso on Sunday with Halcyon Dreams who looked like she might run in to a place when she took a heavy tumble two out. Both her and jockey Emma were quickly back to their feet but it was a heart in the mouth moment for us all. She got a good check over by the vets at the racecourse and was deemed fit and healthy and she has had a few days R and R at home.

We have a few entries this weekend. Spartakos is in at Musselburgh on Saturday and would like some rain, That’s Your Lottie will likely head in the other direction to Hexham. On Sunday we have Colinton entered at Musselburgh for the Sunday Series but he has a ballot number so we may need a spot of luck to get a run.
