Runners
Heading to Kelso tomorrow with a runner in each of the last two races. Big declarations ahead of what looks like will be lovely ground and great foresight of Kelso to get two races split in a month where there is not a lot of jumps racing in the north. Whatsthestoryman owned by the Dunkley family and sponsored by Icom Scottch runs in the 4.50 with Sean Quinlan on board and Jewellery sponsored by Quins Restaurant under Stephen Mulqueen in the 5.20. Both are chasers having a run over hurdles due to a lack of chasing opportunities available to them this coming month but both horses in great form at home, fit and well.We have had a really productive week with Callum Bewley in schooling on Thursday and Stephen Mulqueen in on Friday. We really appreciate the extra help with the schooling and its good for them to get a sit on the horses and get a feel for them ahead of racing. Pleased with how all the horses jumped and good to get a different opinion on how they have strengthened up over their summer holidays from people who have not seen them for a while. The Dawn Bandit and Knocklayde have both shown a huge improvement physically for their time off. Also good luck to Braw Lass Amy Thomson riding in The Borders Principal Race. This is taking place at 12.50 if anyone wants to head along before racing and cheer her on!!
