Merry Christmas

Hard to believe it’s Christmas Eve already, and it’s such a glorious winters day.We have had a great couple of weeks with the runners and it’s fantastic to have such a nice stable of horses and super owners as well. Herecomesnelson placed again at Newcastle behind two well handicapped horses and surely deserves to put his head in front soon.  He has put his poor form behind him and is repaying his owners patience with a sequence of consistent runs. Chain Of Beacons placed again at Musselburgh, a great run around what wouldn’t be his ideal track, and Newstart claimed a placing at Kelso looking like he would enjoy a step up in trip.  Stoney Rover ran a fantastic race to finish 2nd to the well thought of Highland Hunter at Hexham last week and is looking like a very exciting horse for the future. Western Supernova made her racecourse debut at Newcastle and we were thrilled by the way she ran despite being green early on in the race.We had a Christmas night out for the staff (aged ones) on Saturday, it was a great night with good food and plenty gin and I don’t think the heads were too sore on Sunday. Not much changes around the yard over Christmas, all the horses still need fed, mucked out and excercised and a couple of the girls will be in tomorrow to help get the work done. We have our Christmas dinner at night once evening stables are finished up for the day. Our family run Restaurant Quins is also open tomorrow and there are a few hours waitressing on the cards for me as well. No rest for the wicked!Have a fantastic Christmas everyone, Sláinte Mhath!!
