A Welcome Winner

After a disappointing day at Kelso on Saturday it was great to have some positive results to kick the week off. Elite Icon was very pleasing at Ayr on Monday. He lugged top weight round in heavy ground to finish 4th beaten only 5 lengths, he’s not the biggest chap to be carrying 11 stone 12 so a lot of credit must go to his good attitude. On Tuesday we headed down to Catterick with Rockley Point who was due a win and did the job, but he certainly made Phil work for his fee. Awesome to get a win on the board for the team. Due to myself being out of action it was the first time Murray (dad) has led a horse up for me so he now has a 100% strike rate in that department, he may find he gets some more lead ups now!I have now spent 4 weeks in a sling after shoulder surgery and hoping I only have about 3 weeks to go before I can get back to some normality.  I am finding it tough not being hands on and been pretty grumpy with it, lucky to have such fabulous staff that keep everything in order while I am on the sidelines though. Hopefully I’ll be back driving in a few weeks but back on a horse is looking a bit further away. Our next entries are at Newcastle on Tuesday.
