All Systems Go

We have had a busy start to the week on the yard, 7 more in on Monday am and all 7 were shod by lunchtime.  Great to get them back into work and they will all start their roadwork and progress to cantering over the next few weeks.  The horses have summered well and we are really pleased with all of them.  We are so lucky that they can go out on to our local farmers hills where there is great grass with plenty of hills to keep them moving and natural shelter.  The horses that have been in walking for a few weeks started cantering yesterday and that went smoothly, everyone managed to behave! We have another busy day planned on Friday when our vet will be in to do boosters and general health checks ahead of the forthcoming season.I advertised a weekend job through the week and the response was unbelievable with well over 20 applicants, lots of keen young horsewomen wanting to learn the job.  Hopefully a good sign that young people are keen to work in the horseracing industry.  Although trying to pick out the most suitable applicants is proving difficult.
