A Good Week

We have enjoyed a good weeks racing kicked off by Nellie French following up with another win at Wolverhampton. She sat back off the pace and weaved her way through the other runners to record her second successive win under a confident ride from Phillip Dennis. Hopefully restrictions will allow us to celebrate soon!Tuesday took us to Carlisle where Flaming Glory didn’t show his best form but was looked after by Sean and is home safe and sound. Epson Roque was outpaced over 2 miles  and will come on fitness wise from the run as well.On Wednesday we headed back down the M6 where Spartakos lined up for Making Headway Racing in a first time hood. The hood did its trick and he ran a much more relaxed race, perhaps slightly outpaced turning in but it was great to see him gallop through the line for second place and he looks sure to improve for either a step up in trip or a more galloping track. A great start for Making Headway Racing!Grey Tikkana ran at Kelso on Friday, she jumped well on her hurdling debut but looked green and weak. Hopefully she will improve for time, experience and a step up in trip.Last night at Newcastle seen a great run from Elladora who finished third on her handicap debut, she showed a fantastic attitude and most importantly she behaved in the stalls. Onwards and upwards for this exciting filly now! Rockley Point ran a great race to pick up (another) second, he was very gritty and galloped all the way through the line which was brilliant to see. He really is a very special horse to have in the yard.A big change in the weather this last week and the nights stretching out has made the job a lot easier and more enjoyable. We have had the task of changing the horses two big heavy winter rugs into something a little lighter as we head into spring, a great sign that summer is on its way.A quiet week ahead with runners, we will have entries at Newcastle on Saturday.
