Concert Boy Kicking Off 2025

Concert Boy has been threatening to win since we got him and last night he got the job done in fine style. Darragh Keenan, on his first mount for the yard, weaved his way through the field to land in front for the last half furlong and show off the talent that we know this horse has. A huge well done to his owners Making Headway Racing, and even better a fair few of his owners were there to celebrate on the track.

Rockley turned out for both days at Newcastle this week. On Friday night he got caught among the front runners and set fractions that he could not sustain. However, on Saturday, under our apprentice Jake he ran a lovely race to finish a close 5th, he enjoyed his overnight stay at Newcastle and still seems to be loving his racing.

We are very much looking forwards to the thaw we are forecast tomorrow and over the week ahead. It has been a very trying couple of weeks, with several mornings the temperature ranging down to a chilling minus 8. It is a huge testament to the team at home who have dealt with frozen water troughs and taps, clearing snow, spreading salt and of course handling and riding extra fresh horses who are slightly out of routine due to the weather conditions.
