Success at Ayr

Fantastic to see Lochalsh win yesterday at Ayr Racecourse under a confident ride from Callum Bewley. He is owned by Simon and Angela Gillie along with myself and it has taken a bit of patience and a lot of TLC to get him ready to win. He came to us with a high rating after winning two bad novices on firm ground, he was fairly jarred up and struggling with his breathing. In the time it has taken us to iron out the little niggles he has dropped down to a fairly low mark which has given us some scope to hopefully have a little fun with him and enjoy some days out. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of options with him over the next couple of weeks although he does hold an entry at Newcastle on Thursday but if declared will struggle to get a run.Really proud of Benefit In Kind yesterday who ran over an inadequate trip but still finished 4th despite being badly hampered, trying to find the right races for this lad is a bit of a task at the minute. Knocklayde ran very green in his hurdling debut but his jumping settled by the end and hopefully a few runs he will settle into the job and be competitive.Unfortunately our lovely little mare Selena burst a blood vessel at Kelso on Sunday, she will have a quiet week and we will do a little work with her over coloured poles and then she will be looking for a new home where she can hopefully do some happy hacking and a spot of showing!
