Dreaming Of April Showers

Having spent most of the winter looking for rain, we are still waiting. A deluge of non runners at The Scottish National meeting highlighted the weather related problems we have been having. It would be great to get some of our National Hunt horses back on the course for a run before they head out on their summer holidays so I am still hoping!
After a first fence fall last week at Kelso it was brilliant for Western Supernova to put that behind her and have a nice clear round at Hexham yesterday, she seemed to enjoy the run and should have learned a lot for the experience.
Two of our flat team ran on Saturday. Robben Rainbow ran nicely in a competitive handicap at Thirsk and shaped like a step up to 7 furlongs would be an advantage to him. Rockley Point broke almost too well at Wolverhampton and used up too much energy early on in the race. It has been frustrating to lose the early season flat meetings at Ayr due to the drainage works and Naples Bay who had been an intended runner there was then balloted out at both Thirsk and Wolverhampton. Very frustrating for him and everyone involved, especially when he is so fresh at home.
We have a new member added to our small flat team and ‘Night Law’ has settled in well. She showed ability to win as a juvenile and hopefully we can find that form after some poorer runs.
Hugely excited by another new arrival last week when Jewellery finally gave birth to a healthy colt foal by Black Sam Bellamy. There will be some big dreams over the next 4 years.
We do not have any entries standing and are unlikely to have anything entered up for National Hunt until it rains.
