Busy Few Weeks

It has been a busy enough past couple of weeks and we have had a few horses run well in defeat.
Elladora ran a blinder at Newcastle a week past Tuesday to finish fourth beaten only 2 lengths in a hot looking affair. She was naughty pre race at the stalls which is something we have previously worked hard at so it was a little frustrating but she showed she had ample ability to go on and win races which is very exciting. She has spent the last week doing extra stalls work every day and the staff have been working very hard to prepare her for a stalls test in the near future. The same night Spartakos (pictured) ran a little keen and was beaten only a length and three quarters. He picked up another placing for his efforts, a little frustrating for a horse that deserves a win.
Gweedore ran another great race to finish second under a penalty at Ayr on Thursday, he is an absolute superstar and a credit to his owners Lamont Racing and to the yard. Since joining us he has notched up two wins, three seconds, one third and two fourths from ten runs. Mr consistent.
Our others runners are all home safe and looking forwards to getting them back out on the track soon. We have some of our National Hunt horses getting a bit fitter and will be hitting the racecourse with some of them the beginning of October, its hard to believe its that time of year again its comes round so quickly.
We have had the extra asset of a five bay horse walker on the yard which is proving very handy especially with horses that are on rehabilitation or ones that need a little extra each day to keep their weight right. It is just one of the improvements that we have invested in recently. We are enjoying our weighing machine which is great way to keep an eye on horses well being as well as great to ensure accurate dosages for medication when the vets are in the yard. The two stall is another recent investment that is proving a great asset, with two lorries it means we can easily commit to runners at different tracks on the same day without any stress.
Over the next few days you can look out for us having runners at Hamilton Sunday, Monday and Perth on Wednesday!
